Getting to Know Lougheed Town Centre
Lougheed Town Centre is more than just a redevelopment—it’s a new chapter for the Burnaby community. We are playing a part in transforming this 37-acre site into a vibrant city centre that connects four significant cities: Burnaby, Coquitlam, Port Moody, and New Westminster.
Designed to be a bustling hub for shopping, dining, and living, we expect this architectural masterpiece to become a central landmark in the region.
After years of hard work, including contributions from East & West Alum Craft, the first phase of Lougheed Town Centre is now complete. With four towering residential buildings, some reaching up to 65 stories, this development is shaping up to be a new icon in Burnaby.
Currently, Lougheed Town Centre features over 1.4 million square feet of retail space, beautiful green parks, and easy access to public transit. It’s more than just a place to live—it’s a community built with the future in mind.

Master-Planned for the Future
The Lougheed Town Centre project marks a significant milestone in urban development, transforming what was once a traditional shopping mall into Canada’s largest master-planned community. Spanning 37 acres and comprising over 23 high-rises, this development is second only to Hudson Yards in New York in terms of scale and ambition.
Our Contribution to the Project
Designed by James Cheng Architects, the first phase design was created by GBL Architects.
As part of Phase One, East & West played a pivotal role in constructing the four residential towers, designed by James Cheng Architects with the first phase design created by GBL Architects. These towers now stand as iconic features of the new city centre are not just impressive for their height but also for the meticulous attention to detail and quality that went into their construction.
Our team expertly crafted and installed three types of glazing and three distinctive colour schemes, each adding a unique touch to these towering structures. Tower Two, in particular, stands out with architect-designed perforated screens that enhance both privacy and aesthetics.
